Osmoflo is looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to play a key role in stabilising, modernising and transforming our data and integration landscape.

At Osmoflo, we deliver world-class water and wastewater treatment solutions and are driven by a mission to help build a sustainable water future. This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to meaningful business transformation, working across modern Microsoft cloud, data and integration technologies in a practical, outcomes-focused environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Digital Transformation, you will lead the design and delivery of a modern, cloud-native data platform, with a strong focus on transitioning our legacy data estate into Microsoft Fabric as our core enterprise-scale data platform.

This role is central to our data transformation agenda — stabilising current platforms while enabling scalable, real-time data, advanced analytics and future AI use cases. You will work across data engineering, integration, platform architecture and governance, helping establish best practices and technical patterns for the business.

This is a Senior technical role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building robust cloud-native solutions using the latest technologies and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes, while laying the foundation for enterprise data, analytics and AI capability across the organisation.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate data ingestion pipelines across APIs, events and batch processes.
  • Design and deliver a modern enterprise data platform in Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture, data pipelines, semantic models and integration with the broader Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Lead end-to-end platform modernisation, including legacy data warehouse remediation, migration to a Fabric-based Lakehouse, and decommissioning of redundant systems.
  • Build and maintain integrations using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, REST APIs, C# / .NET and event-driven or messaging-based patterns.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices to support reliable releases across environments.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting and observability frameworks to identify failures, data quality issues, schema drift and performance bottlenecks.
  • Apply secure development practices using Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, service principals, OAuth and Azure Key Vault.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, reporting teams, vendors and technical teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in enterprise data platform engineering and data warehouse modernisation.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering modern, scalable data platforms (ideally Microsoft Fabric or similar Lakehouse architectures).
  • Experience with Azure data services (e.g. Data Factory) and SQL Server, as well as legacy ETL tools (e.g. SSIS), with the ability to modernise into cloud-native data platforms.
  • Experience enabling downstream analytics platforms (e.g. Power BI), including data modelling and semantic layers, as well as supporting AI/automation use cases from modern data platforms.
  • Experience developing reliable integrations using APIs, Azure services and C# / .NET.
  • Deep understanding of data quality, validation, transformation, reliability, recoverability and governance.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with strong ownership, accountability and attention to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively across business and technical teams.
